In Barrie you need both: cold A/C for humid July afternoons on Kempenfelt Bay and strong heat and defrost for -25 January mornings. We diagnose and repair complete climate control systems on all makes, from a simple recharge to compressor replacement and heater core work.
A weak defroster is a safety issue in an Ontario winter. If your windshield fogs or frosts while driving, have the heating system checked before the cold sets in.
Common climate control problems
- A/C blows warm or takes too long to get cold
- Weak airflow from the vents
- Heater blows cold, or defrost can't keep the windshield clear
- Musty smell from the vents
- Clicking or squealing when the A/C engages
- Sweet smell or fog from vents (possible heater core leak)
Our A/C and heating services
- A/C performance testing and leak detection
- Refrigerant recharge (R134a and R1234yf)
- Compressor, condenser, and evaporator replacement
- Heater core and blower motor replacement
- Thermostat and cooling system service
- Cabin air filter replacement
A/C & Heating questions, answered
Why is my car's A/C blowing warm air?
The most common cause is low refrigerant from a slow leak, but it can also be a compressor, sensor, or electrical issue. We test the system and find the leak rather than just topping it up so the fix lasts.
How often does car A/C need to be recharged?
A healthy system shouldn't need regular recharges. If yours needs one every summer, there's a leak, and refrigerant is too expensive (and environmentally regulated) to keep venting.
My heat is weak in winter. What causes that?
Usual suspects are a stuck thermostat, low coolant, a plugged heater core, or a blend door problem. We'll diagnose it before the deep freeze hits Barrie.
